Movies are the main source of entertainment, life wouldn’t be complete without some drama, action, comedy and romance.  For as long as there have been movies, there have been special effects.  Today, the magic of movies is largely regulated to computer generated special effects that use filming in front of a green screen to separate the actors from what visuals will be added in later. The making of movies in chroma background is very common nowadays. Usually green color background is used for chroma shot  because image sensors in digital video cameras are most sensitive to green.

Before looking at the shots none of us could actually pin point the difference between the actual shots and chroma key background. the valleys, the railway station and even the scene where Shahrukh is running on the roof.

Genre: Sports, Drama, action and romantic.

Chroma Shot:  You’re probably going to be astonished to find out just how much was chroma-keyed was used in  buildings, crowds and other pieces of window dressing. Mostly all the boxing ring shots are chroma shots, the crowd used in used in these shots is not actual.

3 Idiots

Chroma Shot: Its so surprising that even 3 Idiots had so many chroma shots. The terrace shots, the traffic shots, the crowd, day to night conversion.

Shot: The  stadium scene was shot in croma key background. The crowd showed in the movie was all visual effects there was no person in reality on the stands.

Robot

Cast: Rajnikanth, Aishwarya Rai

Genre: Science fiction, Drama, Comedy

Chroma Shot: All the dual Rajnikanth sitting together scenes were chroma shots. The magic of vfx makes everything possible, as we can see there were many scenes in the movie which were not humanly possible to do.

Life of Pi

Cast: Irfan Khan, Suraj Sharma, Tabu

Genre: Adventure movie, Drama

Chroma Shot: The first scene of the movie was shot in a swimming pool instead of an ocean and even the tiger and zebra were a product of vfx. The whale was also a product of vfx illusion. The whole movie was vfx based,  and most of the  scenes were shot using chroma background and visual effects.

Housefull 3

Genre: Comedy, Romantic, Action

Croma Shot: The alluring villa we saw in the movie is actually vfx effect and in reality the villa is old and dirty. The is not even as huge as shown in the movie, the ants, the crowd, even the ball with which Akshay Kumar played was just a visual effect, the green chroma background was used for countless shots.

Bahubali

Cast: Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati

Genre: War, Adventure, Epic, Fantasy, Drama

Chroma Shot: You would be just amazed to know the visual effects used in the movie, the beautiful waterfall, the mountains, even the astonishing view of the whole dynasty showed was all visual effects. The waterfall scenes were all shot with a green background or chroma key background.

Krrish 3

Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranuat

Genre: Romance, Action, Science Fiction, fantasy

Croma Shot: A lot of visual effects were used in this movie, the whole laboratory showed was a product of visual effects. The chroma key background was used in almost every super hero shot. Kangana changing herself into different people was   also one of the visual effects used in this movie.
