Projection Mapping

3D Projection Mapping is not just another “cool” technique, but it has changed the way the world sees the method of projection. Not only is it new and informative, but it is impressive and out-of-the-world. It is a modus operandi where, instead of using a simple 2D white background, any 3D object can be used as a base. Whether they are buildings, or any other sort of structure, no matter how complex and of what colours, the video can be projected with ease.

Not just this, but the technique allows a lot of free movement for effects, letting the user play with shape, line, or space, and thus creating brilliant optical illusions. And those illusions do not just enchant the audience but connects to them on an emotional level, leaving an impression that lasts so much longer than the projection does. It goes without saying, but this method is also very environment-friendly as it requires no particular details that harm the 3D objects or the surroundings in any way.

Projection Mapping works just well on rough surfaces/objects as it does on an evenly shaped object/surfaces. These objects can be of the simplest appearance or of a complex architectural genius, like monuments, and historical landmarks, complex industrial landscapes in form. Surely, by now you’ve figured out that Projection Mapping works on almost all surfaces and it works great.

One Projector Rental Cost: Rs 1,30,000/day
And 1 Server Rental cost : Rs 40,000/Day
One server can handle 4 projectors in one time.

Generally one projector can cover 20 by 12 or 30 by 12 area, if the distance of projector from the wall is around 50 feet.

The cost of 3D Projection Mapping is dependent on :

1. Size of projection
2. Level of details required.
3. Technology used in projection

Projector used: 20,000 lumens (Christie)
Also, it depends on the lens used. It can be Ultra shot through or telescopic. Ultra shot through can create a 120 feet wide image.

For eg. In projection at Manik Chowk in Udaipur, for a distance of 62 feet, with the area of 380 feet by 85 feet, 8 projectors were used.

3D PROJECTION MAPPING: HOW IT CAN BE USED?

3D Projection Mapping: In a world where your movies are 3D, it seems only fair that the realm of projections do not fall behind, and why should they? Rather than the old and boring procedure of finding a plain white background so you could show everyone your work, we bring a new and mind-boggling technology which never fails to amaze and impress everyone.

PROJECTION MAPPING KNOW ABOUTS

Movies speak to you, move ‘figurative’ mountains, inspiring you to do the unthinkable, create the unimaginable. However, even movies have their limits, the message they carry gets out of touch with reality and obsolete rather fast than you’d want to. Then what would rule your audience’s heart and move them at the same time? Strangely enough, 3D Projection Mapping has gained a stronghold in the advertising, music, international festivals like Fête des Lumières to name a few.

3D PROJECTION MAPPING : HOW IT IS DONE?

3D Projection Mapping technique allows a lot of free movement for effects, letting the user play with shape, line, or space, and thus creating brilliant optical illusions. And those illusions do not just enchant the audience but connects to them on an emotional level, leaving an impression that lasts so much longer than the projection does.
